The Independent Commission calls for an end to targeting hospitals and medical facilities

Ramallah - Ma'an - The Independent Commission for Human Rights launched an urgent appeal to third parties to the Geneva Conventions, calling for immediate and urgent action to stop the bombing of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, the need to provide them with fuel and all the necessities of life, to stop targeting civilians, to protect the sick, and to stop the process of evacuating them, which exposes them to the risk of death.

The statement added, "We hold the occupying power, Israel, fully responsible for the unprecedented crimes being committed, as well as everyone who participates in supporting Israel, and everyone who remains silent about these crimes, and we call on countries and international institutions to assume their moral, legal, legal, and humanitarian responsibilities to stop the crimes." Stop targeting civilians and civilian objects and protect them, and do not leave the civilian population without protection from destruction and death as a result of violent bombardment with internationally prohibited missiles.”

The statement said, “We call on all relevant and competent international institutions and bodies to assume their responsibilities, break their silence, and immediately and without delay take practical steps to stop the ongoing crime of genocide and forced displacement in the Gaza Strip. The failure of these international institutions to implement international humanitarian law in The occupied Palestinian territory means the failure of this system, which will inevitably lead to a disruption of international peace and security.”

The statement said, “We make a special appeal to the International Committee of the Cross, the World Health Organization, and UNRWA to fulfill their duty and legal obligation to provide protection for civilians, facilities, and medical teams. We also call on countries that have diplomatic relations with the occupying power to fulfill their moral, legal, and humanitarian obligation to put serious and effective pressure on.” Israel "to stop the war crimes and crimes against humanity it is committing in the Gaza Strip."

The statement said: “We also ask the Arab leaders at their summit held in Riyadh to stand up to their duties and take a firm stance to stop the massacres committed by the occupation in Gaza.”
