The Holy Governor of Karbala, Nassif Al-Khattabi, met with the Mayor of Tehran, Ali Reza Zakani, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, mechanisms of cooperation and coordination between the two sides were discussed in a number of fields, including the visitors' file, with the approaching million visits during the holy months of Muharram and Safar, given that the largest numbers of foreign visitors are from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Governor stressed: "The holy Karbala, whose heart accommodates everyone from different countries of the world, regardless of their nationalities and religions, because it is a city that has transcended its borders to be the city of all humanity, and this is what Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, wanted."
