Muscat: The State Council Office today convened its 6th meeting of the 2nd regular sitting during the eighth term, led by Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council. The meeting concentrated on discussions surrounding the diversification of income sources and overcoming fiscal sustainability challenges.
According to Oman News Agency, the State Council Office engaged with members of a special committee established to examine the “Mechanism for diversifying sources of income in the Sultanate of Oman.” The committee’s mandate includes identifying challenges to financial sustainability and income diversification, with the goal of proposing viable solutions to enhance income diversification and financial sustainability.
Additionally, the committee is expected to present proposals aimed at supporting the stability of public finance as part of the 11th Five-Year Plan. This also encompasses recommendations related to legislation and governance to bolster financial sustainability efforts.
