Muscat: The State Council’s office convened to discuss a study titled “Mechanism for Diversifying Sources of Income in the Sultanate of Oman” during its fifth meeting of the second regular session of the Eighth Term. Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, presided over the meeting.
According to Oman News Agency, the study examined the current status of the Omani economy and its national income sources. It included an overview of global experiences in addressing challenges related to diversifying income sources and ensuring financial sustainability. The study concluded with recommendations for future strategies to diversify income across different economic sectors.
During the meeting, the council also reviewed a report from the Social and Cultural Committee about recent discussions with officials from the Social Protection Fund regarding the implementation of the social protection system. Additionally, the State Council bureau assessed reports from council members who participated in regional and international forums, along with progress reports.
