Jeddah: The State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority took part in the Regional Workshop on Capacity Development in Project Financial Management, held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to Oman News Agency, the workshop focused on developing practical solutions to common challenges by leveraging innovative global best practices and emerging technologies. It featured specialized sessions with Supreme Audit Institutions, addressing the Islamic Development Bank's audit requirements for project financial management. Additionally, trends in project financial management practices at both country and project levels across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region were discussed, alongside challenges faced by multilateral development banks in financial auditing of projects in the MENA region.
The sessions also delved into the approaches adopted by state audit institutions for auditing projects during emergency situations and in fragile environments. Other discussions included emerging trends in Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) auditing, particularly concerning developments in regulations and standards, as well as the use of technology. The workshop underscored the significance of collaboration among multilateral development banks, international organizations, and SAIs to identify solutions and provide recommendations for enhancing project financial management.
The State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority was represented by Zaher Sulaiman Al Salmy, Deputy Chairman for Audit of Government Units, who participated in the discussions and sessions throughout the workshop.
