Muscat: Al Kamil and Al Wafi The South A'Sharqiyah Governorate's Environment Monitoring Office today organized the fourth edition of an environmental observation exercise at Al Saleel Natural Park in collaboration with the Environment Department in the Governorate. This initiative aimed to bolster the efficiency of national cadres involved in environmental conservation efforts.
According to Oman News Agency, the exercise concentrated on equipping participating teams with skills in using modern technologies such as monitoring tools, GPS devices, trap cameras, and drones. The program also sought to familiarize participants with the correct legal processes for issuing violation reports and statements. Additionally, it aimed to improve their operational planning skills, foster teamwork, and facilitate the exchange of expertise among teams from different governorates.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the role of environment monitoring in protecting natural resources and preserving wildlife. It builds on previous exercises that focused on advancing field performance and utilizing technological advancements in line with modern environmental developments.
The exercise played a crucial role in increasing the readiness of specialists dealing with environmental violations and issues related to the encroachment of wildlife habitats.
