Muscat:South Al Batinah: An introductory meeting on the Media Law and its Executive Regulations was organized today by the South Al Batinah Governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the event was held under the patronage of Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashmi, Governor of South Al Batinah, and was attended by the Walis, Deputy Walis, Directors General, media specialists, practitioners, and students of media and mass communication.

The meeting aimed to align with legislative developments in media regulation, enhance awareness of professional practice frameworks, introduce key articles and provisions of the Media Law, and review procedures related to media licenses and permits for electronic platforms and websites.

Hamood Abdullah Al Saadi, Director of the Media Office in South Al Batinah Governorate, highlighted the importance of understanding media legislation and the responsibility of media practitioners to adhere to legal and professional standards.

Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Hinai presented a working paper detailing the Media Law's most notable articles and provisions, aiming to enhance sector workers' knowledge of their rights and responsibilities.

Additionally, Nasser Ahmed Al Rashdi provided insights into media licensing procedures under the Media Law, discussing related controls for electronic platforms and clarifying organizational aspects of media practices.

The meeting included a panel discussion on legislative and regulatory aspects of media work and encouraged dialogue on professional challenges and practices. It aimed to foster adherence to media legislation, enhance knowledge of professional responsibilities, and elevate media practice in line with Oman Vision 2040.
