Baghdad The Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoto, a number of local and regional issues.
The media office of the Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq stated in a statement: “Sheikh Khazali received in his office today, Matsumoto, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq and the region.”
It added that Sheikh Khazali discussed with the Japanese Ambassador the situation in the region, the developments of events in Gaza, the repercussions of the ongoing Zionist bombing that left thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the necessity of allowing the entry of medicines, medical supplies and necessary aid into Gaza without any preconditions, and for Japan to take a clear position on what is happening in the Palestinian territories, and for the international community to play its role to stop the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.”
Sheikh Al-Khazali stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of benefiting from Japanese experience and expertise in achieving economic development in Iraq,” indicating that “Iraq possesses the elements of a comprehensive renaissance, and needs the support of the international community to overcome and surpass the challenges that the Iraqi government has begun to overcome.”/End
