Seventh Edition of ‘Dhofar Holy Quran Forum’ Concludes in Salalah

Salalah: The 7th edition of the ‘Dhofar Holy Quran Forum’ concluded today at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The event marked the culmination of a series of activities and discussions aimed at enhancing Quranic teaching and understanding.

According to Oman News Agency, the forum was organized by the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate. The closing ceremony was graced by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, along with the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and other senior government officials.

The ceremony featured a visual presentation that highlighted the evolution of Quranic teaching from traditional methods to modern digital technologies. Additionally, a religious chanting programme was part of the event, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the occasion.

A significant part of the ceremony was the felicitation of 24 winners of the Quran Competition. Moreover, 40 local women were honored for completing the memorization of the Holy Quran, showcasing the community’s dedication to religious education.

Throughout the forum, various working papers were presented, discussing intellectual and educational issues. These included methodologies for understanding the Holy Quran and its approach to addressing intellectual challenges and building a value-based system.
