Second National Clinical Audit Forum Highlights Clinical Audit Projects and Research

North a'sharqiyah: The Directorate General of Health Services in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate organized the Second National Clinical Audit Forum, which brought together more than 150 specialists in clinical auditing, healthcare professionals, and medical staff from health institutions across the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the forum was held under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Planning and Regulation. It showcased 70 clinical audit projects presented by various Directorates General of Health Services throughout Oman. These projects aimed at enhancing healthcare quality, improving health performance, ensuring compliance with medical standards, and promoting patient safety. Additionally, they focused on developing health cadres through training programs and continuing medical education, utilizing modern technologies to improve care quality, and emphasizing the dissemination of audit results and recommendations to enhance medical clinical auditing performance.

The event also featured six scientific research papers that collectively addressed the tracer methodology in evaluating clinical audit practices in medical care, reviewed methods for measuring clinical data and statistics, and discussed ways to improve patient safety. The papers covered enhancing community participation in healthcare and discussed medical standards and guidelines in clinical operations.
