Muscat: Sanad Service Centres in the South Al Batinah Governorate are becoming a vital part of the region’s economic and service framework, supporting the commercial and investment activities in the area.

According to Oman News Agency, these centres play a significant role in simplifying government procedures, enhancing the business environment, and allowing entrepreneurs and citizens to complete their transactions efficiently. The Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in South Al Batinah Governorate emphasized that Sanad Service Centres act as a crucial link between government entities and the public, aiding in the transition to digital services.

Tarik Nasser Al Harrasi, Director of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in South Al Batinah Governorate, stated that there are 85 centres spread across various wilayats in the governorate. This distribution ensures that services are accessible to a broad segment of the population. The centres are strategically located with 39 in the Wilayat of Barka, 20 in Rustaq, 17 in Al Mussanah, 5 in Nakha, and 2 each in Al Awabi and Wadi Al Maawil.

Al Harrasi noted that these centres provide employment opportunities for 213 Omanis, highlighting their role in supporting employment and human resource development. They also play a part in encouraging the private sector and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

He confirmed that the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion aims to expand the range of government services available through these centres to meet the needs of beneficiaries and improve service performance.

Since their inception 20 years ago, Sanad Service Centres have grown significantly, adapting to economic changes and contributing positively to the business and investment climate. At the recent 2nd Sanad Centres Forum, the Ministry introduced initiatives to enhance the work environment of the centres, improve employee efficiency, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector, aiming to establish the centres as key service platforms supporting economic growth.

Al Harrasi stressed that the development and sustainability of Sanad Service Centres align with ‘Oman Vision 2040’, which aims to position South Al Batinah Governorate as an attractive investment destination and bolster economic and commercial activities in Oman.
