Salalah Hosts World Mental Health Day Exhibition Focused on Workplace Wellbeing

Salalah: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah inaugurated the second annual World Mental Health Day exhibition today, centered on the theme “Enhancing Mental Health in the Workplace.” The event, organized through collaboration between the university and 15 governmental and private institutions across Dhofar Governorate, represents a significant community health initiative.

According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, presided over the opening ceremony and recognized the contributions of participating organizations. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Shahri, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the University in Salalah, emphasized the university’s commitment to advancing mental health awareness and its demonstrated impact on productivity and life quality. “This exhibition underscores the vital importance of cross-sector collaboration in supporting community mental health initiatives,” Dr. Al Shahri stated.

The exhibition features educational displays and awareness services from multiple health, educational, and social institutions, highlighting practical approaches to managing workplace stress and psychological challenges while promoting positive mental health strategies for daily life.

The initiative aims to strengthen understanding of mental health’s crucial role in personal, professional, and academic environments. Through providing psychological support resources and promoting healthy practices, the exhibition supports the development of sustainable, positive workplace environments across the region.
