Russian Air Defense Destroys 89 Ukrainian Drones over Several Regions

Muscat: The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its air defense forces destroyed 89 Ukrainian drones over the territories of several regions.

According to Oman News Agency, the ministry specified in a statement that the drones were intercepted in multiple areas, highlighting the extensive efforts of the defense forces.

The statement detailed that 52 drones were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region. Additionally, 13 drones were intercepted over the Lipetsk region, nine over the Rostov region, eight again over Belgorod, three over the Voronezh Belgorod region, three over the Astrakhan region, and one over the Krasnodar region.

Since the conflict began in February 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have regularly claimed to have shot down each other’s drones. However, verifying these claims has proven challenging due to the ongoing war, which restricts access to frontline areas and complicates the process of confirming the information.
