Al Murtafaa: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) today celebrated the graduation of batches of cadet officers’ course, specialized university officers’ course, transformative course, and paramedic course from Sultan Qaboos Military College, the Royal Army of Oman’s Academy. The ceremony was held at the military parade ground in Al Murtafaa Garrison under the patronage of Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office.
According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony began with the graduates giving the military salute to the chief guest. The RAO band played the Royal Anthem, after which the commander of the column sought Gen. Al Nu’amani’s permission to inspect the front row of the parade. The graduates performed a military show in slow motion and normal march, passing in front of the dais of the celebration square, led by the banner of Sultan Qaboos Military College. The column then advanced forward in parade form.

i, who achieved first place at the level of the batch of cadet officers. Following that, the Sultan Qaboos Military College’s banner was ceremoniously passed from the graduating batch to the current batch undergoing training at the college, who vowed to keep the flag fluttering high. The Flag Anthem was played, and the bearers of the flag roamed the rows of their batch.
The graduates chanted the RAO anthem and performed the Oath of Loyalty, proclaiming allegiance and chanting thrice ‘Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme commander’. The column of graduating officers performed the military salute, followed by the band playing the Royal Anthem. The commander of the column requested the chief guest’s permission to dismiss, and the column passed in front of the dais, giving the military salute to Gen. Al Nu’amani.
The RAO Music band presented various musical pieces and a military musical show, with different detachments showcasing their skills. This reflected high morale and dexterity in u
sing the latest equipment and musical instruments with which the band was supplied. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including ministers, undersecretaries, the Chairman of the State Council, the Chairman of the Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security services, retired commanders, senior SAF officers, retired senior officers from other military and security detachments, military attachés from embassies of Arab and friendly countries accredited to Oman, RAO personnel, and parents of the officer cadets.
