RAM Launches Public Policy Design, Implementation Programme

Muscat: Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has launched the Public Policy Design and Implementation Programme in collaboration with King's College London. In alignment with Oman Vision 2040, the programme aims to enhance participants' ability to navigate complex policy environments, address emerging challenges, and drive institutional excellence. It prepares them to develop effective public policies and translate national priorities into executable initiatives, delivering sustainable impact across organisations and society at large.

According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Fathiya Abdullah Al Rashdi, RAM's Vice President for Programme Affairs, stated, "The Public Policy Design and Implementation Programme reflects our commitment to preparing public sector leaders to respond effectively to an increasingly dynamic and complex operating environment." Participants will be equipped with strategic insights, analytical capabilities, and practical tools necessary to design and implement evidence-based policies and translate national strategies into actions that deliver a real-world impact.

Dr. Ahmed Al Lawati, Programme Supervisor, emphasized the programme's design to bridge theory and practice, allowing participants to explore contemporary policy challenges while enhancing their decision-making skills based on data, evidence, and future-oriented thinking. Through case studies, practical workshops, field visits, and applied projects, participants will engage with real-world policy issues and develop solutions that can create meaningful societal value.

The four-month programme gathers 30 participants from Oman's public sector, including department directors and section heads with at least ten years of experience and current supervisory leadership roles. It aims to equip them with the skills needed to transform strategic priorities into effective policies, assess factors influencing successful implementation, and strengthen engagement with stakeholders and society. Additionally, the programme focuses on enhancing participants' communication of policy decisions to contribute to stronger governance, improved public services, and sustainable national development.

The curriculum comprises specialised learning modules such as Policy Design for the Present, Policy Design for the Future, and Public Policy in Action, along with workshops on Society and Artificial Intelligence and Leadership. Participants will also undertake applied policy projects and engage in an international learning experience at King's College London, gaining exposure to global best practices and contemporary approaches to public policy design and implementation.

Through initiatives like the Public Policy Design and Implementation Programme, RAM continues its mission of developing leaders capable of shaping resilient institutions, fostering innovation, and delivering meaningful impact, in line with Oman Vision 2040's long-term objectives.
