Parliament Preparing To Host The Government Committee Charged With Amending The Salary Scale

The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed an intense movement to resolve the controversy over the draft law amending the salary scale for state employees, which the ministerial committee in charge of preparing, last April, completed all the requirements required of it and signed the minutes of preparing the scale.

Committee member, MP Muhammad Nouri, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that “the signatures of MPs from different blocs were collected to host members of the ministerial committee charged with preparing an amendment to the salary scale for state employees, in the sessions of the House of Representatives to find out the results of the committee’s work and what it has reached and the obstacles and timings required to address minimum salaries, differences in job titles in ministries, and the salary structure for special grades and presidential employees.”

He added, "An official request will be submitted to the Presidency of the House of Representatives to determine a date for hosting members of the government committee to amend the salary scale, and to include it on the agenda of the upcoming sessions."

The government committee had then set, in the middle of last April, a date for sending the proposed peace to the Council of Ministers for the purpose of presenting it at the Council of Ministers meeting to take the necessary action regarding it.
