Palestinian and Egyptian foreign ministers discuss developments in Palestine

CAIRO, May 31, 2023 (WAFA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Malki, briefed today his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, on the overall Palestinian developments. During a meeting in Cairo, both ministers discussed the impact of the practices of the Israeli extreme right-wing government on the future of the Palestinian cause and the stability of the region. Malki, who is in Egypt among a ministerial delegation headed by Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh, reviewed the ongoing Israeli violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, in addition to the repeated incursions and successive violations targeting holy places. Malki called for the international community to assume its responsibility for putting an end to the ongoing Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people. For his part, Shoukry reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He also stressed the importance of the concerned regional and international parties to play their role in order to provide the appropriate conditions to advance the peace path in the coming period, in a manner that achieves the desired peace and stability in the region.
