Over 44,000 Benefit from North Al Batinah Summer Programs

Muscat:North Al Batinah: The 2026 summer center programs in North Al Batinah Governorate have concluded. These programs, organized by the Governor's Office with the involvement of 49 government, private, and civil society institutions, benefited over 44,000 participants from various wilayats in the region.

According to Oman News Agency, the closing ceremony was presided over by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development for Family Affairs and Community Development, and attended by several officials.

Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, emphasized that the summer centers exemplify successful integration and partnership among participating institutions. These efforts have contributed to achieving program goals, targeting youth and adolescents to make productive use of their summer vacation.

The programs aimed to develop the talents, skills, and creativity of participants through a variety of cultural, scientific, literary, religious, and sports activities, as well as fine arts, scientific innovations, and educational and recreational trips. The number of beneficiaries this year exceeded 44,000, showcasing the program's growing reach and diversity.

Dr. Abdullah Said Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Summer Centers, stated that in their fourth edition, the centers have evolved beyond traditional leisure programs. They have become platforms for talent discovery, skill development, and fostering innovation among young people.

Over 450 students participated in educational and recreational visits, gaining exposure to cultural, scientific, and economic experiences. The closing ceremony included an exhibition with more than 15 displays featuring participant-created works, such as scientific research, innovations, robotics, fine arts, and handicrafts.

A visual presentation reviewed the growth of the summer centers since their 2023 launch, from 1,200 beneficiaries and 2 participating entities to 44,122 participants with 49 entities in 2026, reflecting the programs' ongoing expansion and success.
