Sultan Haitham City:The Sultanate of Oman is set to host World Habitat Day 2026, partnering with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), under the theme "Adequate Housing for All," as part of its Urban October 2026 events.
According to Oman News Agency, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the event during a press forum at the Experience and Sales Center in Sultan Haitham City. Scheduled from 5-8 October at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event will feature the Home, Building Exhibition, and Conference.
UN Under-Secretary-General Anacl¡udia Rossbach is expected to participate in the World Habitat Day program, which includes various sessions and working papers that focus on housing, urban resilience, and quality of life. The exhibition will also host the presentation ceremony for the "United Nations Honorary Award," recognizing achievements in human settlements.
The exhibition's sixth edition will cover an area exceeding 19,000 square meters, with participation from more than 220 exhibitors and 65 real estate developers. It will offer over 20 events, with attendees from 50 countries, featuring more than 90 speakers and the presentation of 100 working papers.
Key topics at the event will include scalable integrated living solutions, challenges of rapidly growing cities, and human-centered urban planning. The ministry will present future city projects such as Sultan Haitham City, A'Thuraya City, Al Jabal Al Aali, and the "Sorouh" initiative, providing opportunities for housing exploration and investment discussions.
A dedicated pavilion will allow the ministry to showcase its services and programs, address citizens' inquiries, and offer housing and planning services during the exhibition. Open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the event will also provide an online platform for browsing sessions, exhibitors, speakers, and networking opportunities.
