Kuala Lumpur: Represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Sultanate of Oman today signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the International Islamic University of Malaysia to establish an Omani Research and Studies Centre at the university. The agreement marks a significant step in fostering academic and cultural ties between Oman and Malaysia.
According to Oman News Agency, the MoC was signed by Sheikh Ahmed Saud Al Siyabi, Secretary General of the Iftaa Office at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, Rector of the International Islamic University of Malaysia. The memorandum aims to introduce Oman, its people, and its civilisation, while encouraging academics and specialists to conduct studies and research about the country.
The MoC generally seeks to consolidate professional cooperation and enhance cultural communication between the two friendly countries. The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Abbas bin Ibrahim A
l Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, along with ambassadors of Arab and friendly countries, and a number of researchers, academics, and individuals interested in the field.
