Minsk: The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the 36th edition of 'Belagro 2026' International Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition, which commenced today in Minsk, Republic of Belarus. The exhibition, running until June 6, coincides with the 'Belarusian Agricultural and Industrial Week'.
According to Oman News Agency, the Omani pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, who is leading the Omani delegation. The event was attended by Hamoud bin Salim Al Tuwaih, Oman's Ambassador to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, along with other delegates and representatives from Omani companies.
The pavilion is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, along with several Omani companies in the food security sector. It features a variety of Omani food and marine products and highlights investment opportunities in the food sector, as well as services related to export and supply chains.
Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), emphasized the importance of Oman's participation in 'Belagro 2026'. He noted that the exhibition provides an opportunity to leverage Belarusian expertise and market Omani products in Belarus.
Al Rawas also mentioned that Oman's delegation to the exhibition consists of 72 participants from 44 companies and government departments. He expressed optimism that the event would facilitate agreements and partnerships between Omani and Belarusian companies during the Omani-Belarusian Forum.
Sheikh Shihab bin Hamad Al Balushi, Wali of Dhalkout, remarked that the exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to understand Belarus's experience in food security and agricultural diversification through modern technology.
Dr. Abdullah bin Masoud Al Harthy, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Oman, stated that Oman's participation in 'Belagro 2026' underscores the commitment of both countries to expand economic, commercial, and investment cooperation in key sectors.
Dr. Masoud bin Sulaiman Al Azri, Director General of Agriculture and Fisheries Marketing and official spokesperson for the Ministry, highlighted that the participation reflects the strong bilateral relations between Oman and Belarus. He emphasized the Ministry's focus on showcasing promising investment opportunities in Oman's food security sector.
