Addis ababa: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the second United Nations Food Systems Summit + 4 Stocktake (UNFSS+4) being held in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The summit, which will conclude tomorrow, is jointly organized by the governments of Ethiopia and Italy.
According to Oman News Agency, Oman’s delegation is led by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The summit will review global progress in transforming food systems to contribute to the realization of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The summit aims to enhance joint action, assess national and international efforts, and mobilize resources to establish comprehensive, sustainable, and resilient systems that ensure food security and nutrition for all.
Attendees of the summit include heads of state and governments, ministers, representatives of United Nations agencies and international organizations, as well as civil society institutions, researchers, youth, and agricultural producers from around the world.
