Muscat: The 20th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Regional Air Traffic Monitoring Agency (RATMA) for the Middle East kicked off in Muscat today. The two-day meeting is hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), acting in cooperation with the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the RATMA.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting will see the participation of the International Air Transport Association and the Federal Aviation Administration. The meeting will follow up the outcomes of the 19th meeting of RATMA board, the recommendations and decisions made by the 21st meeting of the Middle East Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group.
The meeting will also review the performance of air navigation in the Middle East region and study information about a programme to minimize vertical separation between airplanes and monitor safety at the horizontal level of aircraft flight.
