Oman Engages in Middle East Forum to Address Human Trafficking

Kuwait City: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 6th session of the Governmental Forum to Combat Human Trafficking in the Middle East, held in the State of Kuwait. Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, led Oman’s delegation at the forum. He emphasized Oman’s initiatives to combat human trafficking through various awareness campaigns, legislation, seminars, and workshops, as well as providing protection and assistance to victims and affected individuals.

According to Oman News Agency, the forum aimed to explore methods to enhance regional cooperation and exchange expertise among member states in combatting human trafficking. The discussions focused on strengthening protection and prevention efforts and prosecuting offenders in line with international standards. The event also highlighted collaboration with relevant international organizations and institutions to address the issue effectively.
