Muscat: Acting in cooperation with Cyber Defense Center and the Advanced Cybersecurity Academy, Al Roya newspaper today organized Oman’s cybersecurity conference in Muscat. The event was themed “Enabling Cyber Security in the Logistics Sector” and aimed to address cyber risks and threats, alongside discussing best practices to tackle related challenges within the logistics sector.
According to Oman News Agency, the opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The conference featured four working papers: the first paper focused on managing the complexities of cybersecurity; the second elaborated on the cybersecurity risks and threats specific to the logistics sector; the third highlighted cyber threats in Internet of Things (IoT) integration systems, smart warehouses, and logistics services; and the fourth addressed the topic of rethinking industrial control system security using zero trust in logistics operations.
The conference also featured a discussion panel that underscored the importance of establishing national standards for the most effective cybersecurity practices in the logistics sector. This initiative aims to devise a unified national framework for information security, ensuring robust protection against potential cybersecurity threats.
