Hanoi:The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), has concluded its participation in the Interpol Anti-Drug and Prohibited Substances Conference held in the Czech Republic, which lasted for three days.
According to Oman News Agency, the conference aimed to enhance international police cooperation and facilitate the exchange of information and expertise among law enforcement agencies in member states. Key topics included tackling transnational crime, such as organized crime, terrorism, cybercrimes, human trafficking, narcotics, and financial crimes.
Discussions at the conference also focused on combating the illicit manufacturing of narcotic substances. Participants examined ways to track supply chains and suspicious shipments while implementing stricter controls over transport routes and intermediaries.
The conference emphasized the importance of enhancing border security and dismantling criminal networks. This involves connecting financial, logistical, and criminal data, tracking money laundering techniques, and employing artificial intelligence to improve security measures.
