Muscat: Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), today received Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Trkiye, and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting focused on exploring investment opportunities to activate joint investments under the Oman-Trkiye Joint Fund.
According to Oman News Agency, discussions emphasized identifying high-return growth opportunities in several promising sectors that would serve the economic interests of both Oman and Trkiye. The talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and localizing technology and expertise in domestic markets.
The dialogue also included enhancing investment cooperation with OYAK, Trkiye’s sovereign wealth fund, through the Oman-Trkiye Joint Investment Fund. This fund was established with equal contributions from both countries, holding a capital of USD 500 million. Its primary focus is on investments in Oman and Trkiye, along with strategic global opportunities.
Key sectors identified for investment include mining and metals, automotive manufacturing, logistics, chemicals, agriculture and food, as well as energy. This initiative aligns with OIA’s strategy to expand its international investment network and establish partnerships that benefit the national economy.
