Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Kazakhstan engaged in discussions on bilateral cooperation during the second political consultations session held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. According to Oman News Agency, the session included an evaluation of the steps taken to enhance trade and investment exchanges between the two nations. The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while Arman Issagaliyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, headed the Kazakh side. During the consultations, both parties discussed existing agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as those expected to be finalized. They also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues. On the sidelines of the consultations, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy met with Alibek Kuantyrov, Head of the Kazakh side in the Omani-Kazakh Joint Committee. The Undersecretary also visited the Artificial Intelligence Center in Astana and held meetings with officials from the Islamic Organization for Food Security. The meeting and visits were attended by Badriya Hamad Al Ajmi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Kazakhstan, along with several officials from the foreign ministries of both countries.
