North Al Batinah Council Addresses Key Development Projects

Sohar:North Al Batinah: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate convened under the leadership of Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, to discuss several service projects, development issues, and social welfare programs across the region's wilayats.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting included discussions on health, training, rehabilitation, and career guidance efforts by various sectors. The participants reviewed responses from government departments to previous recommendations and proposals.

The allocation of land for future desalination plants in the governorate was a key topic, with representatives from Nama Water company and other stakeholders in urban and population growth sectors participating. Additionally, the council addressed the need to maintain a steady flow of treated wastewater into Wadi Sallan in the Wilayat of Sohar and considered the environmental and health implications.

Further discussions involved government feedback on employment opportunities in emerging economic sectors, enhancing career guidance programs in schools, and addressing issues in transport and logistics, including the regulation of maritime operations at Shinas Port, alongside other development-related matters across the governorate's wilayats.
