Nigerian Military Kills 175 Militants in Coordinated Air and Ground Operations in Northeast

Muscat: The Nigerian military has announced the killing of 175 militants during airstrikes and intensive ground operations in the country's northeast, the army said in a statement. The operations were carried out in joint coordination between Nigerian forces and the US Africa Command, and the coordinated strikes began several days ago, according to the statement.

According to Oman News Agency, states in northeastern Nigeria have witnessed repeated attacks from militant groups active in the region since 2009. The violence has claimed an estimated 40,000 lives and displaced nearly two million people.
