Baghdad – The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed on Monday the need for Iraq not to be drawn into getting involved in regional problems and tensions.

The Regional Presidency media stated in a statement that Barzani received this afternoon the Secretary-General of the Iraqi National Progress Alliance, Jamal Al-Dhari, and the two sides discussed the political and security situation, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, dialogue in order to resolve the outstanding problems between them, and the latest developments in the Middle East situation.

The two sides agreed in the opinion of the necessity of maintaining security and stability in Iraq and the region and striving to prevent the development of complications, and they stressed that Iraq should not be drawn into getting involved in regional problems and tensions./ End
