MoU Signed to Equip Advanced Technologies Lab in Sohar UTAS

Sohar: Sohar Aluminium Company and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences branch in Sohar today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to fund the equipping of the advanced technologies lab in the university. The MoU was signed by Jameel Mohammed Shakeel, Head of Communication and Social Responsibility in Sohar Aluminium, and Dr. Hanifa Ahmed Al Qasimi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences branch in Sohar.

According to Oman News Agency, the agreement specifies that Sohar Aluminium Company will fund the acquisition of equipment and technical devices for the university’s advanced technologies lab. This lab is dedicated to innovation and research in cutting-edge fields such as virtual reality, blockchain technology, information sciences, and hybrid cloud technology.

The advanced technologies lab will offer a variety of services to its beneficiaries, including workshops, training courses, guidance programmes, research projects, hackathons, competitions, and exhibitions. These initiatives aim to foster innovation and support technological advancements within the academic community and beyond.
