Meeting Highlights “Takamul” Project in Dhofar Governorate

Muscat: Dhofar Municipality, in cooperation with the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, organized an introductory meeting on the "Takamul" project for government project and procurement management. The meeting formed part of the change management efforts for the national project and saw the participation of representatives from government entities in Dhofar Governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting aimed to enhance the readiness of government entities for the upcoming phases of the project, which stands as one of the strategic national initiatives designed to unify the system for managing government projects and procurement. This system encompasses stages from planning, through tenders, contracts, and implementation, to closure and performance measurement, thereby enhancing governance, transparency, and spending efficiency.

Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Ba'Owain, Director General of the Directorate General of Projects and Technical Affairs at Dhofar Municipality, stated that the meeting stems from the municipality's keenness to support national initiatives aimed at developing the government work system and enhancing the readiness of government entities in the governorate to implement the project in accordance with best practices.

He added that the "Takamul" project represents an institutional transformation that extends beyond merely being a digital system, as it contributes to unifying procedures, fostering integration among government entities, and raising the efficiency of project and procurement management, which positively impacts performance quality and the speed of decision-making.
