Baghdad, French President Emmanuel Macron said today, Tuesday, that he will keep the interim centrist government in the country until the end of the Olympic Games in mid-August.
Macron acknowledged the loss of his centrist party in the elections, but declined to comment on the Left Front’s proposal to appoint a new prime minister.
He explained that the government, whose term is about to end, will continue to focus on the Olympic Games in a caretaker role until mid-August, after which he will look to appoint a new prime minister.
Macron confirmed that he will keep the transitional government to avoid “chaos”.
Last week, Macron accepted the resignation of Gabriel Attal’s government and assigned it to caretaker.
