The Ministry of Labour and Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) today signed a cooperation agreement to train 86 graduates in areas related to future technologies.
The step stems from the “National Skills Development Programme” being implemented by Omantel Academy in cooperation with the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, and Talal Said Al Maamari, CEO of Omantel.
The agreement provides for training in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and data sciences as part of the ‘National Skills Development Programme’.
The two-year programme seeks to bridge the skills gap between education outcomes and labour market
