Nizwa: The Ministry of Labor today organized a forum in the Wilayat of Nizwa, Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, to discuss the significance of the ‘National Strategy for Professional Standards’. The Ministry emphasized the strategy’s critical role in enhancing performance.
According to Oman News Agency, the forum was held under the auspices of Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah. It focused on the strategy’s contribution to promoting performance, improving the quality of training, and preparing national cadres to enter the labor market with well-defined standards for each profession.
The event featured a presentation by Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Al Najjar, Director General of Training at the Ministry, who explained the process of implementing professional standards. Al Najjar discussed the stages of developing standards in collaboration with relevant departments and the process of integrating these standards into the professional licensing system. He also identified the target sectors for the current stage and outlined expansion plans for the future.
Participants at the forum examined the mechanisms for applying professional standards in the workplace. Dr. Shafiq bin Darwish Al-Abri presented on the role of vocational education institutions in aligning academic study programs with professional standards to meet labor market demands.
The forum concluded with a review of success stories illustrating the application of the ‘National Strategy for Professional Standards’ across different sectors.
