Jordan and Syria Deliberate Enhanced Military Cooperation

Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, received the Syrian Chief of the General Staff, Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Naasan, along with his delegation to discuss strengthening military cooperation between the two countries. The meeting underscored Jordan's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to support Syria, enhancing their historic ties and contributing to regional security and stability.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting attended by several senior officers, Maj. Gen. Huneiti emphasized the readiness of the Jordan Armed Forces to deploy resources and capabilities across various fields to serve shared interests and bolster national security for both nations. Maj. Gen. Al-Naasan expressed gratitude for Jordan's supportive stance toward Syria in overcoming challenges, highlighting the significance of deepening bilateral ties for mutual benefit.

The discussions also covered issues of mutual concern, focusing on the necessity of continued coordination to tackle regional challenges, with particular attention to counterterrorism and drug smuggling efforts.
