Tehran: Sayyid Hamoud Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior met in Tehran today with Eskandar Momeni, Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meeting took place within the context of Oman’s participation as a guest of honor in the fourth meeting of Interior Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states, held earlier today.
According to Oman News Agency, during the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance the existing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran in areas of mutual interest. They also reviewed a set of regional topics related to the work of the Economic Cooperation Organization, particularly in the security fields.
Both sides emphasized the importance of developing channels of cooperation and communication between the relevant departments in the two countries and exchanging expertise. This aims to enhance joint efforts in addressing regional challenges and contribute to supporting security, stability, and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by Maj.Gen. Abdullah Ali Al-Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and Sheikh Ahmed Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Regional Neighbourhood Department at the Foreign Ministry.
