Integrity Commission Reveals the Waste Of 9 Billion Dinars In One Of The Electricity Projects In Salah al-Din

The Federal Integrity Commission revealed that (9,000,000,0000) dinars were wasted in an electricity project in Salah al-Din Governorate, indicating the arrest of a number of suspects, including the former director of the governorate’s electricity distribution department.

The Commission’s Investigation Department indicated that Salah El-Din Investigation Office team was able, after carrying out investigation work on the project to supply equipment for (KV11-33) stations, to uncover an inflated price that led to a waste of public money, explaining that the total value of the project implemented from amounted to (15,000,000,000) dinars before the governorate office within the regions development program for the year 2018, while its real value does not exceed (6,000,000,000) dinars, meaning that the waste of public money amounted to (9,000,000,000) dinars, which is equivalent to (60%) of the total value of the project.

It added that (5) defendants were arrested, including the former director of Salah al-Din Electricity Distribution Branch, and legal measures were taken against members of the project implementation committee and members of the receiving committee, as well as the engineers who signed the speculative statement of the project, and the original exchange bonds and project initials papers were also seized with the original bonds. According to which an amount of (15,000,000,000) dinars was disbursed.

It added that a legal report was written with the seized elements, and it was presented, along with the defendants, before the competent investigating judge, who, in turn, decided to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.
