Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued two Royal Decrees concerning visa exemptions. Royal Decree No. (55/2024) endorses an agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, aimed at the mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. This agreement was formalized in New York on 23 September 2024.
According to Oman News Agency, Article (1) of the decree ratifies the aforementioned agreement as per the version attached to the decree, while Article (2) mandates its publication in the Official Gazette and states that it will come into force from the date of issue.
Additionally, Royal Decree No. (56/2024) confirms an agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Suriname for the mutual waiving of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. The agreement was signed in New York on 26 September 2024.
This decree also comprises two articles. Article (1) ratifies the agr
eement as per the attached version, and Article (2) requires its publication in the Official Gazette, with enforcement starting from the date of issue.
