Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. (65/2026) addressing amendments to the Unified System for Insurance Protection Extension to GCC citizens working in member states other than their home countries.

According to Oman News Agency, Article (1) of the decree specifies that the amendments will apply to the existing system, ensuring enhanced insurance protection for GCC citizens employed outside their home countries within the member states. Article (2) of the decree annuls any provisions that contradict or are inconsistent with these newly introduced amendments. Furthermore, Article (3) mandates that the decree be published in the Official Gazette and become effective starting the day after its publication.
