HM The Sultan Embarks on State Visit to Algeria

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left here today heading to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on a two-day state visit, during which he will meet with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The visit, made in response to an invitation by the Algerian President, underlines the distinguished relations between Oman and Algeria. It aims to boost cooperation at various levels and open new vistas for partnership and investment in a manner that serves the joint interests.

According to Oman News Agency, His Majesty the Sultan was seen off at the Royal Airport by several high-ranking officials, including HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; and HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. Other notable figures present at the departure included Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council; and Nasr bin Hamoud Al Kindi, Secretary General of the Royal Court Affairs, among others.

During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied by a high-ranking official delegation comprising HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdussalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority; Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources; Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health; and Saif bin Nassir Al Badaai, Ambassador of Oman to Algeria.
