His Majesty The Sultan and Iranian President Engage in Strategic Talks at Al Alam Palace

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian held a session of official talks at Al Alam Palace, focusing on strengthening the partnership between Oman and Iran.

According to Oman News Agency, the talks commenced with His Majesty welcoming President Pezeshkian and his delegation, expressing hopes for a fruitful stay. President Pezeshkian conveyed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by His Majesty.

The discussions encompassed the historical ties between Oman and Iran, with an exchange of views on the current regional developments. Both leaders explored avenues to enhance collaboration in industry, commerce, and education, aiming to fortify the Omani-Iranian partnership. Additionally, they discussed ways to boost cooperation in logistics and health sectors, aligning with the interests of both nations.

Following the open talks, a closed-door session was held between His Majesty the Sultan and President Pezeshkian.

The Omani delegation present at the talks included several high-ranking officials such as HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, and HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, among others. The session also saw the participation of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Head of the Mission of Honour, and other notable ministers and ambassadors, emphasizing the importance of these discussions in fostering bilateral relations.
