Muscat: HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said today patronized over the Military Music: Oman and the World show, organized by the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) on the occasion of the glorious National Day.
According to Oman News Agency, the concert, held over three consecutive evenings, features participation from Omani Military Music ensembles and a number of international bands. This event continues ROHM’s annual tradition of presenting military music performances every November, where Omani military bands are showcased alongside international ensembles in celebration of this joyous occasion.
The Omani side’s participating music bands include the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), in addition to the Royal Cavalry, the Royal Camel Corps, the Scout Music Band, and the Infantry Band from the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).
These ensembles offer an opportunity to witness the high precision of military parades, listen to bagpipes, drums, and wind instruments, along with other selected displays.
Embodying the close relations and openness that connect the Sultanate of Oman with other countries, this year’s ceremony featured participation from an elite group of musicians and artists from the Kingdom of Belgium. Their involvement reaffirms the depth of civilizational and cultural communication with the Sultanate of Oman and enriches the event with spectacular military shows and captivating traditional segments presented in traditional costumes reflecting ancient heritage.
The audience in the Maidan of the Royal Opera House Muscat witnessed displays of artistic skills in exquisite formations set to the rhythms of military music, along with performances by percussion bands in a ceremony that included various heritage segments. The show also featured participation from a group of the most skilled Omani musicians.
