The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, confirmed that granting investments to reputable companies contributes to preventing corruption, while he stated that combating poverty and unemployment and ensuring a decent life for the decent citizen is a sacred goal of the government, and that activating investment and the private sector are the most important tools for achieving that goal.
The head of the Integrity Commission said in a speech during the forum held by the Commission in cooperation with the Iraqi Embassy in Cairo, in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador Ahmed Nayef and a number of Iraqi and Egyptian businessmen and investors: “The interaction of the Federal Integrity Commission with the government program achieved unprecedented progress in the fight against corruption,” explaining: “One of the priorities of the government program is combating corruption and poverty, and combating poverty comes through activating investment and the private sector and providing safe climates for them to enter the labor market.”
He added: “Iraq is on the verge of promising investment opportunities, and reputable Egyptian companies must compete for them, especially after the Prime Minister’s announcement of the development road project,” stressing that “granting investments to reputable companies contributes to preventing corruption.”
Hanoun urged the owners of investment companies to take the initiative to notify the Authority of cases of blackmail that they may be exposed to, which contributes to cutting off corruption and protecting the economy, pointing out that “this ensures the employment of Iraqi workers while guaranteeing their rights in terms of security and retirement in accordance with the law,” Pointing out that “ensuring the rights of the Iraqi worker to social security and retirement is the most important reason for the success of investment and the fight against corruption.”
For his part, the Iraqi ambassador referred to the historical relationship between Iraq and Egypt, stressing that the leaders of the two countries embodied this through concluding agreements, memorandums of understanding, and mutual visits at all levels.
The ambassador said that the war of all types of Iraqi security forces against ISIS gangs was a war on behalf of the world and Arab countries, calling for investing in financial abundance and cash and gold reserves that attract investment, and benefiting from investment companies in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
