Baquba, Military forces began a security operation to secure Lake Hamrin, northeast of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that army forces began a sweeping operation in the areas surrounding Lake Hamrin, northeast of Baqubah, as part of efforts to enhance security and stability.

He added that the operation, which was launched from two axes, aims to return the villagers, secure agricultural roads, and search abandoned homes to secure the vicinity of Lake Hamrin and prevent any activity of ISIS cells.
