Beirut: The latest Emergency Committee report has disclosed a significant intensification in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, tallying 109 airstrikes within the past 24 hours. These attacks primarily targeted Nabatieh, the South, and Baalbek-Hermel, bringing the total number of airstrikes since the onset of hostilities to 11,876.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Ministry of Public Health reported a grim toll of 71 martyrs and 169 wounded in the most recent attacks. The cumulative impact of the conflict has resulted in 2,968 martyrs and 13,319 wounded. A separate statement from the Health Emergency Operations Center highlighted the severe impact on Baalbek-Hermel, where 52 martyrs and 72 wounded were documented following the latest raids.
Efforts to manage the humanitarian crisis have seen the establishment of 1,133 centers to accommodate displaced persons, though 957 of these have already reached capacity. The total number of registered displaced individuals stands at 190,083, equivalent to 4
4,041 families, with the largest concentrations in Mount Lebanon and Beirut. However, actual numbers are believed to be considerably higher.
Between September 23 and November 2, 2024, General Security recorded the movement of 361,300 Syrian and 177,864 Lebanese citizens into Syria. The Governmental Emergency Committee continues to coordinate the reception and distribution of international aid, striving for transparency across all governorates.
Security forces are tasked with maintaining order, aiding displaced persons, distributing essentials, and managing resources to prevent exploitation and ensure economic stability. Meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Higher Education has announced the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic year on November 4, adjusting educational pathways for both private and public institutions.
