Muscat: As per Royal orders, the Eid Al Fitr holiday 1446 AH for employees of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, other legal entities, and establishments of the private sector will commence on Saturday, 29 March 2025. The conclusion of the holiday is subject to two potential scenarios based on the sighting of the moon.

According to Oman News Agency, if the first day of Eid falls on Sunday, 30 March 2025, the holiday will end on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, with official work resuming on Wednesday, 2 April 2025. Alternatively, if the first day of Eid is observed on Monday, 31 March 2025, the holiday will extend until Thursday, 3 April 2025, with employees returning to work on Sunday, 6 April 2025.

The Ministry of Labour has noted that employers in the private sector may negotiate terms to require employees to work during the holiday period if necessary, as long as appropriate compensation is provided to those who work during the holiday.
