Education Ministry and OQ Forge Partnership for Student Development in Energy Sector

Muscat: The Ministry of Education signed today a cooperation program to implement joint programs in career guidance and the energy sector with OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company, contributing to developing and empowering students to acquire advanced scientific skills and enhancing their understanding of various work environments through three programs: the 'Work Experience' program for students, the training program for career guidance specialists, and the awareness campaign on the future of the oil and gas sector.

According to Oman News Agency, the agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Education by Dr. Intisar Abdullah Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Supporting Educational Programs, while it was signed on behalf of OQ Company by Faisal Ahmed Al Balushi, Chief Human Resources and Technology Officer at OQ.

The cooperation program signed today includes the implementation of joint programs represented in the work experience program, under which students are attached to the second party's sites for training in technical and administrative skills, and the specialists' training program through organizing specialized workshops for career guidance specialists on the future of energy.

The program also includes executing a comprehensive media and educational campaign on the future of the oil and gas sector, developing training and awareness content in proportion to the target groups, in addition to continuous evaluation and follow-up on the effectiveness of the executed programs, establishing joint mechanisms to periodically assess students' performance and measure the extent to which program goals are achieved, preparing periodic joint reports on the workflow in the program, identifying challenges, proposing solutions and recommendations, and reviewing the cooperative program and all related programs in general at the end of each operational phase or when needed, with the aim of developing and improving it to ensure its continuity and effectiveness.
