Drug Traffickers Arrested In Three Governorates

The General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs announced today the arrest of drug traffickers and seized (13) kilograms of narcotic substances in their possession in the governorates of Wasit, Najaf, and Kirkuk.

The Directorate stated, in a statement, that, “Under the personal supervision of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and in a series of specific security duties carried out by the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs, during the past hours, after an intensive intelligence effort, two international drug traffickers were arrested in Wasit Governorate, after they infiltrated the border crossing, they were seized with (10) kilograms of narcotic crystal and opium.”

It added: "During a qualitative operation in Najaf, a kilogram of crystal narcotic substance was seized, and a local drug dealer was arrested."

It continued: "A drug trafficker in Kirkuk was arrested red-handed with two kilograms of crystal narcotic substance in his possession."

It confirmed, "The men of the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs pledge to the Iraqi people more proactive qualitative operations in the coming hours against the networks of soft death with great energy and great determination."
